Bedrock Quartz, a Utah-based countertop company headquartered in West Jordan, earned “Best Places to Work among Mid-Size Companies in Utah” at an awards ceremony on October 29. The award, presented by the Salt Lake Tribune, was based on research from a Top Workplaces employee survey conducted by Energage, a Philadelphia-based research and consulting firm.
“We were honored to receive the Best Places to Work award and are thrilled to know our employees feel good about their jobs and are happy to work with us. They are the lifeblood of our success,” said Scot Nichols, Director of Sales for Bedrock Quartz, who received the award along with Director of Marketing Jason Gough.
Bedrock Quartz fabricates custom quartz, granite and marble countertops for residential and commercial markets in Utah. The growing company opened its sixth showroom in Murray in October. It is the largest custom countertops fabricator in the state and is planning further expansion into Summit County in 2024.
The four-generation Utah company was founded in 1976 as a laminate countertop company by family patriarch David Jorgensen. Three of Jorgensen’s sons, Alan, Eric and Steve, now play critical roles in the family business and are integral to Bedrock Quartz operations. Bedrock expanded its manufacturing campus in 2019, quadrupling the size of its prior facility.
Bedrock has made a significant commitment to being a good steward of resources. Water used in the fabricating process of cutting and shaping the stone slabs is recycled and filtered repeatedly. Over the years, the company has made fifteen significant tool changes, so the process is now 95% computer-controlled, using precise templating and laser technology to ensure exact measurements that builders and customers value.
Each of the company’s six showrooms offers large displays of countertop choices to help consumers visualize the surfaces in their homes. Bedrock offers over 100 varieties of material for custom countertops. In 2022, the Utah company expanded beyond countertops by adding custom tile installation for floors, walls, and backsplashes.
In addition to new showrooms in Spanish Fork and Murray, the company has Layton, Pleasant Grove, and St. George locations. “It’s great to see our business grow by doing things the right way instead of cutting corners,” said Nichols. www.bedrockquartz.com.
