Here at Bedrock Quartz, we are proud to say that we install everything we sell. We take installation seriously. We hope every other installer does, too. Regardless, we also believe that customers should be fully informed about countertop installation and all it entails. That is why we encourage our customers to ask questions.
What kinds of questions should you ask? Any question that might be on your mind. For example, a lot of our customers ask about time. They want to know how long installation will take so that they can plan their schedules accordingly. Time estimates may seem irrelevant to most people, but they suddenly matter a lot when it is your home new countertops are being installed in.
Time Estimates Vary
The question about time was designed to lead to the idea that time estimates can vary. There are things an installer would need to know in order to determine how much time it will take. For example, the total size of the job makes a difference. So do the materials installers are working with. Even kitchen layout can impact the amount of time required to do the job.
Working with granite or marble can be time consuming in a complicated layout. An installer would expect to take more time on a natural stone installation compared to laminates. As a general rule, stone countertops take longer to install, however Bedrock Quartz is committed to a seven-day turnaround from template to install.
Installation Costs Vary as Well
We always encourage customers to ask about cost estimates if they are at all concerned about the initial numbers. We welcome questions, especially where estimates are concerned. Remember that a cost estimate is just that. It is our best and most educated guess based on what we know about the current project.
Unanticipated things can drive costs up. A good example is underlying damage discovered during demolition. If the damage is significant enough to require repair work, the extra work adds to installation costs. As always, customers are free to ask about costs at every stage of installation.
There Is a Lot to Be Said About Experience
Installing quartz, granite, and marble countertops is not terribly complicated for someone with plenty of experience. But it can be very tough for someone new to the trade. We mention this because there is a lot to be said about experience. The more experienced an installer is, the more confident homeowners can be in their craftsmanship.
There is another side to this, however. It is impossible for an installer to gain experience if never given the opportunity. It’s really a fine line to walk. You want somebody with plenty of experience but the only way to get that experience is to do the work. So we recommend combining experience with customer reviews.
