As this post is being written, the new year is just around the corner. We are about to say goodbye to 2024 and turn the page to 2025. For many of our customers, this means new countertops. We assume some are planning entirely new kitchens as well.
Rest assured that Bedrock Quartz will be here when you need us. We plan to continue offering our customers the finest quartz, marble, granite, and quartzite countertops in the state of Utah. We have a number of showrooms throughout Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, so feel free to stop in and see what we have to offer.
In the meantime, here are a few key things to consider if you are planning new countertops for 2025:
Every Material Has Its Pros and Cons
It is easy to be tempted by what a countertop looks like. Aesthetics do matter, but it’s wise not to base your decision solely on whether a material is pleasing to the eye. Always remember that every countertop material has its pros and cons.
We love natural stone materials like quartzite, marble, and granite due to their durability and timelessness. But natural stone does require some extra care. On the other hand, quartz is just as durable – perhaps even more so – and doesn’t require nearly as much care. Yet quartz is a manufactured product rather than being a natural stone.
Design Trends Change
We think it is a pretty safe bet that you’re going to consider current design trends, at least in part. Whether or not you do is entirely up to you. Just remember this: design trends change over time. What is popular today may be on the way out 5-10 years down the road. We bring this up just in case you’re planning to sell at some point.
Design trends could play into your choice of materials. If you are committed to natural stone, bold and dramatic veining appears to be the hot trend for 2025. Waterfall and curved edges are also pretty popular right now.
You might decide to go more conservative if you want a classic look that will stand the test of time. That way, even if design trends have changed by the time you’re ready to sell, your countertops will still be attractive.
Practical Considerations
Beyond countertop aesthetics and design trends are the practical considerations. Near the top of the list for many of our customers is budget. Unfortunately, you may fall in love with a countertop that is beyond your reach. So it’s wise to establish a budget and stick with it, just to ensure you don’t overspend on your new kitchen.
Other practical considerations include maintenance and your family’s needs. In terms of the former, do you want a countertop that is easy to maintain? Remember that some surfaces require more maintenance than others; considering that, an easier-to-maintain material (like quartz) might be a better choice for families with young kids.
Installing Your New Countertops
Let us finish up with the question of installation. One of the benefits of purchasing your new countertops through Bedrock Quartz is professional installation. It comes with the package. We install everything we sell, so we support you from the moment you make your purchase until installation is complete and you confirm that you’re satisfied. The new year is just around the corner.
